Teaching as My Future

So for my w200 class we had to see how we had progressed in our goals. I realized that I was slacking on my blog so I decided to write a post. The past week I went home for thanksgiving break! This was the first time that I have been home since August 25th. I was really glad to be home but it was somewhat strange to not be at IU. On Monday and Tuesday I went to my mother's school to help with anything that I could. While I was at the school, I help Alicia's class make their thanksgiving costumes. I helped the kids make pilgrims and native Americans. As I was telling the students what to do I realized how much I loved being at school and helping my mom and the other teachers. This may sound lame but I am so excited for when I have my own classroom. I will be able to create different activities using the all the things that I have learned in school. It will be my own classroom, my students, and my ideas. I cannot wait.

The past week, I realized that teaching is and will be what I want to do with the rest of my life. I could not imagine myself doing anything else. I get so happy when I see those kids faces so happy when they get to make their own pilgrim costume. I will be teaching the future and inspiring them to be whoever they want to be. There is nothing better than that.
